About Us

Although a Presbyterian church has been present at the Bonner Street location for over a hundred years, the Presbyterian Church of Ruston is the product of the merger of two congregations, the First Presbyterian Church and the University Presbyterian Church, during the 1980's.  The church is affiliated with the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.) and the Presbytery of the Pines, which shares offices with the church in the heart of downtown Ruston.

Responding to God's grace with open hearts, open minds, and willing hands, we are called to be a community of faith, sharing God's love through Jesus Christ.  We exist to give glory to God in Jesus Christ, to equip people with a faith that works in real life, and to send us into the world in Jesus' name.  To accomplish this mission, we will...
  • Proclaim the gospel.
  • Nurture the congregation.
  • Serve the needs of the greater community.

Under the leadership of the Session and Commissioned Lay Pastor Edith Hill, the congregation is focusing our passions, our resources, and our capabilities to reach out to our community.
