Local Church Joins Global Relief Effort

Presbyterian Church of Ruston - PCUSA

Around the world, millions of people lack access to sustainable food sources, clean water, sanitation, education, and opportunity.

The work done in support of the causes supported by One Great Hour of Sharing — disaster, hunger, poverty, climate change, and immigration/migration and refugees — serves individuals and communities in need. This work provides people with safety, sustenance, and hope.

The Presbyterian Church of Ruston invites the community to participate in the One Great Hour of Sharing, a 75-year tradition of the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.). During the season of Lent, beginning Feb. 18, the congregation will monetary gifts to support disaster recovery, sustainable food resources, and community development projects worldwide.

“This offering allows us to extend our reach beyond our own doors,” Witness and Service Committee chairperson Susan Pyles said. “From providing clean water to supporting local self-help initiatives, it’s about sharing God’s love in practical, life-changing ways.”

Donation will be received through Easter Sunday. Contributions can be mailed to 212 N. Bonner St., Ruston, LA 71270.
